      <image:title>Projects - The Unknown Hand: An Elemental Fool's Journey</image:title>
<image:caption>The Unknown Hand: An Elemental Fool's Journey is a dance through different colors, textures and seasons of the self. The dancer is a dreamer who cycles through dread, performed bravado, sexual vulnerability, and finally a meditative acceptance of the ebb and flow of life. Among the many elements of this fool's journey are dance, video projection, abstract soundscapes, and singing</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects - Peridermis</image:title>
<image:caption>Peridermis is a collaboration with Gabriella Garcia. The piece is based on a piece of writing by Garcia about a future in which everyone wears an acclimatized suit that allows them to permanently exist in the temperature of their choice. The performance follows two characters in a codependent relationship who are shocked out of a numb state when their suits malfunction</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects - Sanctuary</image:title>
<image:caption>Sanctuary is a performance piece that uses technology as a metaphor for the personal process of finding both peace and expansiveness within the self. It follows Nona, a "user" who is trapped in an obsessive place, cycling through an eternal newsfeed that fills her head with self defeating ideas. She gets to a point of self annihilation, but comes out on the other side in an open plane where she can create a reality that promotes an open ended relationship with herself. The performance features visual projections by Robert Crabtree</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects - The Great BE: Abundance</image:title>
<image:caption>The Great BE, or The Great Black Expanse is Samantha CC's curatorial project that centers artists of the African Diaspora. It is both a performance and video series and a print zine. The idea is to be a platform and a gathering point for black artists whose creativity leads them outside of the boxes that the art world can often place black creators in. Blackness is ever expanding, and black identity manifests in many shapes and forms. The Great BE encourages the courageous exploration of these pathways. These photos are from the most recent show that focused on the theme of "Abundance." Poster by Samantha CC, all photos by Pedro Lopez</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects</image:title>
<image:caption>Photo by Miao Jiaxin An image from my performance “Fragmentina’s Motherland” at Grace Exhibition Space in New York, NY. Here’s a description of the work and its themes “Fragmentina, an otherworldly and bewildered being, wakes up on an unknown shore, nearly nude, with her memory almost entirely wiped. All she knows is that she was taken from her home against her will, but doesn’t remember much about her origins or the events that lead to her displacement. Surrounding her on the beach are various pieces of rubble, presumably from the ship wreck that landed her there. She begins to interact with these objects in an attempt to piece together her true identity and point of origin. Her plan is to build a vessel from the wreckage and navigate home. However, it begins to seem like a true home might not exist for her. Fragmentina’s story is a fantastical allegory of displacement, creation of the self, and the African-American experience as a post-modern creative force.”</image:caption>

      <image:title>Projects - The FULL Rotation</image:title>
<image:caption>Photo by Brian McCorkle "The FULL Rotation is an exploration of the daily psychological grind of being a vulnerable human being navigating the late capitalist mechanisms of contemporary NYC. The performance is in four parts, and using movement, audio and video it veers between forced optimism, hostile pedestrian navigation, open hearted communication, and finally the break down of barriers through unabashed vulnerability. The piece was conceived in response to my experience as a native New Yorker who has seen dramatic changes to the city during her life time. It is also in response to being part of a creative community here that feels constantly squeezed by financial concerns, while the counter culture of the past has been fetishized and absorbed into capitalism as a marketing tool. The city that was once a catalyst for so much radical thought and expression often acts as an antagonist. Looking at the bigger picture, the city has become untenable for the wide range of socioeconomic identities that once existed here, and has trended towards a pure luxury economy. While this work doesn't offer solutions, it is meant to create a space of processing, where we can acknowledge where we're at and plant the seed for a better future." <image:title>Projects - "Saint Cassini's Offering" Roulette, November 7, 2017</image:title>
<image:caption>"Saint Cassini's Offering" A performance piece based on the 25 year mission of the Cassini Shuttle, which meticulously documented Saturn and its moons. The shuttle's mission recently came to a dramatic ending, when it crashed into the planet and disintegrated. The performance consists of movement, poetry, an original electronic soundtrack, video projections and live vocals. The story of the Cassini spacecraft is used in this context as a metaphor for extreme devotion. This could be devotion between humans and a deity, between lovers, or between humans and a cultural standard that they have accepted as truth. It could be read in any number of ways. Sometimes pure devotion can be beautiful, a sign of true love. Sometimes it comes across as unhealthy or even frightening. This performance is an exploration of both ends of the spectrum, and where we all draw the line. The goal is to touch on a number of the ways in which devotion manifests, the ways it repels and invites.</image:caption>
